LIGHT INTO NIGHT: Annual Upstate Fundraiser

LIGHT INTO NIGHT
Saturday September 16, 2017
Fourth Annual Upstate Fundraiser to benefit Art Omi

Join us for a uniquely Art Omi evening of art and surprise to benefit Omi International Arts Center in our transformed Studio Barns in Ghent, NY!

Our annual Light Into Night benefit brings together visual artists, writers, musicians, dancers and architects (and the people who support them) for a rare evening of art, dinner & dance against the striking backdrop of the Art Omi Studio Barns.

The evening also features avant-garde art happenings and innovative performances by Art Omi alumni and friends. After a fun and lively cocktail hour outside as the sun sets over the Studio Barn, guests will move inside to enjoy a seasonal farm-to-table dinner by The Flammerie upstairs in the rustic barn. Silent and live auctions, and then dessert and dancing downstairs will top off the night.

Meanwhile, our youngest Art Omi supporters are welcome at Little Stars, a children's party at Camp Omi with a campfire and art-making.

This event helps the world-renowned Omi International Arts Center continue our important work of producing international arts programming of the highest caliber right here in the Hudson Valley.

FUNDS + SPIRITS RAISED at LIGHT INTO NIGHT!

3rd Annual Showcase, Auction, Art, Dinner + Dance Party to Benefit Omi Honoring Francis Greenburger, Sandi Slone, and John and Linda Cross for their role in founding Art Omi 25 years ago.

FULL ALBUM HERE

At our third annual fundraiser, more than 200 people dined, danced and reveled in an evening of art and surprise performances timed to coincide with the autumn equinox. Last year, thanks to the generous efforts and contributions of the Host Committee, Columbia County community, artists and sponsors -- including Benefactor Sponsors Thompson Giroux Gallery and Etsy -- we brought in over $140,000 to support Omi's programming. That included a special Education Omi appeal which is providing more than $30,000 for camp scholarships for local Columbia County children.

The evening also features avant-garde art happenings and innovative performances by Art Omi alumni and friends. Guests enjoyed delicious, seasonal fare by The Flammerie of Kinderhook along with signature cocktails by Harvest Spirits Distillery.

As the sun set, young artists gathered around the campfire for storytelling and art-making at our Little Stars event, while adults bid on auction items ranging from luxurious international vacation getaways to original artwork by Alice Aycock, Anne Lindberg, Charley Friedman, Linda Cross, and Sandi Slone.

Upstairs, the barn roof shook as we danced into the night to tunes by DJ Mav. It was a magical evening!

THANK YOU TO OUR 2016 BENEFACTOR SPONSORS:

Thompson Giroux Gallery has been showing contemporary art in the Hudson Valley since 2011. We are focused on discovering and presenting compelling, challenging work across a range of disciplines and media. Named Best Gallery in Columbia County 2015 by the Columbia County Council on the Arts and the Register Star/Chatham Courier, Thompson Giroux Gallery looks forward to continuing its relationship with exciting contemporary art and artists, bringing them together with art-lovers, collectors, and the community in a place where all can flourish.

Etsy is a marketplace where people around the world connect, both online and offline, to make, sell and buy unique goods. The heart and soul of Etsy is it's global community: the creative entrepreneurs who use Etsy to sell what they make or curate, the shoppers looking for things they can't find anywhere else, the manufacturers who partner with Etsy sellers to help them grow, and the Etsy employees who maintain and nurture their workplace.
