Candlelight Concert: Kills to Kisses

Join us as we combat the winter chill with an evening of energetic jazz by warm candlelight!  Kills to Kisses (Music Omi alumna Lisa Dowling) has been praised by The New York Times as "Björk-like" and "innovative". Enjoy a reception with drinks and hors d'oeuvres following the performance.

Winter Art Camp 2017

Winter at Omi is the cure for cabin fever! This action-packed four-day program includes 2D and 3D art projects, music and movement, sledding in The Fields Sculpture Park, special workshops with a visiting artist, storytelling, and play.

Fat Bike Project

Saturday, March 4 from 1-3 PM
Benenson Visitors Center

Join us for a reception with artists Jason Middlebrook and Kianja Strobert featuring their custom-painted "Fat Bikes", available for use in The Fields Sculpture Park. Art Omi is pleased to offer the use of our two new bicycles for visitors to explore the grounds during any season.

In collaboration with Zach Feuer and Velo Domestique Bicycle Shop in Chatham, local artists Jason Middlebrook and Kianja Strobert have collaborated to custom-paint these bicycle frames for Art Omi. "Fat Bikes" have larger tires and a sturdy frame making them uniquely able to ride through snow and rough, wet terrain.

Architecture Omi Residency: Final Reviews

Saturday, March 11

These final presentations led by architecture critic Alexandra Lange give the 10 participants of the Architecture Omi Residency an opportunity to pin-up and show their projects at the conclusion of the two-week residency.

The public is welcome to see the early stages of the thinking and design process of making architecture in a classic jury-style review. The reviews are arranged into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a lunch break in between (where the public can grab a bite at the Benenson Visitors Center Cafe!).

Following all the juried presentations, everyone is invited to enjoy a reception with conversation, snacks and refreshments, and get to know the 2017 Architecture Residents.

Architecture Omi: 5x5: Participatory Provocations

5x5: Participatory Provocations is an exhibition featuring models by 25 young American architects based on five prompts. The exhibition invites an architectural response to a series of significant issues we face today, from a growing income gap, immigration, and globalization, to technology's impact on our lives, surveillance, and power.

Omi is pleased to present a series of paintings by the highly renowned American painter Lois Dodd. The artist is best known for her contemplative depictions of landscapes and interiors found around her homes in New York, New Jersey, and Maine. She is also notable as a founder of the artist run, cooperative Tanager Gallery in New York City, 1952.
Free and open to the public.

Writers Omi: Reading at 3rd Floor Gallery

Hear Omi's Spring 2016 international writers and translators in residence read and share their work with an intimate, live audience. This is the first reading hosted by Writers Omi this year, which provides residencies to international literary voices across all types of literature.

Spring Art Camp 2017

Writers Omi: Reading + BBQ

A distinguished group of international writers and translators currently in residence at Writers Omi will read from their works. Following the event, Omi invites visitors to gather for a barbeque feast and reception with the writers, for which donations are appreciated.

Exhibition by Adults of CoArc

Collaborations and artworks by adults of Coarc who participated in a series of creative workshops at Omi over the course of the past several months. The exhibition will include works by individuals who, in addition to drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture projects, engaged in movement, music, active viewing experiences, and team-building activities over the course of the program.


Special thanks to the Coarc Arts Endowment for making this annual partnership possible.

Coarc has been an advocate and resource in Columbia County for individuals who experience disabilities and their families since 1965. The organization provides comprehensive services to children and adults, both in the community and at more than twenty regional locations. Coarc's mission is to expand abilities, one person at a time, so individuals experiencing disabilities can achieve their individual goals.


The Fields Sculpture Park: Spring Exhibition Opening

Join us as we inaugurate new works on view in The Fields Sculpture Park and Benenson Visitors Center Gallery by Andre Kruysen, Joan Banach, Tony Tasset and Matt Wedel.

There will be refreshments, tractor rides throughout the park, and a special art project for children available. Free and open to the public.


Saturday Children's Workshops

Saturdays from 10 AM - 12 PM
September 10, 2016 - June 2017

$12 per child or $20 for two
Drop off/Pick up at the Benenson Visitors Center

Join us on Saturday mornings for this popular workshop for young artists ages 4 1/2 - 12! Based on a weekly theme and inspired by artworks in The Fields, Architecture Omi, and the Visitors Center Gallery, each workshop includes an outdoor adventure and a hands-on artmaking activity. Led by teaching artists, children are divided into two groups by age and participate in developmentally appropriate projects that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative thinking through a variety of materials and experiences.
